40 mm DIN Eyes
This is a German standard eye which is not compatible with British Standard jaws.
It is fitted with a hardened steel insert which is straight sided and designed to mate correctly with the DIN towing jaw,
If used with a British Standard jaw the corners of the insert will wear into the pin.
Under no circumstances should the insert be removed from the eye.
Note that the parallel sided pin in a British style of jaw is designed to mate with a toroidal (round section) eye.
