Secondary Couplings(fitted to unbraked trailers)

A "secondary coupling" is a chain or cable that should be fitted between an unbraked trailer and towing vehicle and maintains the connection of the two in the event of separation of the primary coupling.

This is a legal requirement on trailer's manufactured after 1 January 1997
