Tachographs
The Community Drivers' Hours and Recording Equipment (Exemption & Supplementary Provision) regulations 1986 apply to vehicles with a MAM over 3500kg and vehicle/trailer combinations which together have a MAM over 3500kg used for commercial purposes.
Exemptions apply for some types of vehicles and some uses of vehicles.

Anyone intending to use a vehicle or combination with a MAM exceeding 3.5t which does not fall within one of the specific exemptions should seek further advice from the vehicle manufacturer, trailer manufacturer or local police.
